Ana Serradilla Castaño is a senior lecturer at the UAM (accredited to Professor) and a member of the MIAS; she is the author of ten books (four of these as co-editor) and around sixty articles.

Her research is centred around historical grammar, phraseology and applied linguistics (teaching Spanish as a foreign language); in particular, her studies on historical grammar have focused on the verb system, superlatives, possessive constructions with articles, relative adjectives or the gender of nouns.

In addition, she has worked on the teaching of Spanish to foreigners; phraseology, from a synchronic as well as a diachronic perspective; and some dialectological studies.

She complements her teaching and research work by participating in conferences and projects focusing on teaching research and innovation; organising international conferences; supervising doctoral thesis and continuous development courses; evaluating projects and articles, etc.
