Artisanal publications in Argentina and Spain. Generational experiences of cultural self-management and editorial independence.

He holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO-Argentina, 2008) and a degree in Sociology from the National University of Cuyo (UNCUYO, 2001). He is an Associate Researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), based at the Institute of Human, Social, and Environmental Sciences (INCIHUSA). He serves as an Assistant Professor of Sociology within the Social Communication program at UNCUYO’s Faculty of Political and Social Sciences and teaches in the Master’s program in Latin American Art at the same university’s Faculty of Arts and Design. He leads research teams that have conducted projects funded by CONICET, the I+D+i Agency, and UNCUYO, and has mentored numerous colleagues during their undergraduate and doctoral studies. He has undertaken research stays in Brazil, Colombia and Chile.

Their inquiries address the intersections of youth, participatory practices, memory, and cultural self-management.

This project focuses on the study of artisanal and independent publications in Argentina and Spain over recent decades. Specifically, it examines the production of fringe magazines or fanzines that emerged from grassroots cultural initiatives—including publications dedicated to art, comics, poetry, and music, as well as those originating from community and activist circles. The study investigates works produced from the 1970s to the present day, aiming to identify the unique characteristics of each era, as well as the dialogues, generational discourses, continuities, and ruptures involved. The project employs a participatory action research strategy, involving archival research and cataloging, interviews, and active engagement with the processes under study.
