Residency regulation
The MIAS researchers enjoy great freedom to carry out their work.
In order to guarantee the best possible conditions of accommodation and the good functioning of the Institute, they must nevertheless respect the internal regulations of Casa de Velázquez as well as a series of rules relating to their status.

Accommodation
During their stay, researchers may be accommodated at Casa de Velázquez, a privileged location a few minutes' walk from the city centre and connected by the capital's bus and underground network.
Residents are given a room at Casa de Velázquez and have access to all the internal services, such as catering and laundry.
They can also use the common kitchen and dining room on the third floor of the building.
Assistance with paperwork
Residents can also seek help in completing certain administrative formalities, opening bank accounts or applying for residence permits or visas.
