General Conditions
The call provides for a three-month, non-renewable residency to be held between 1 November 2026 and 31 July 2027.
The selected researcher will receive a stipend of €1,000 per month. In addition, MIAS will cover one round-trip journey between Madrid and the selected candidate’s country of residence, up to a maximum of €250. Candidates from African or Latin American countries may also receive additional mobility support of up to €300.
The three-month residency may be divided between Madrid and Paris.
Accommodation will be provided at the Casa de Velázquez (Madrid) and the Collège d’Espagne (Paris), respectively. If the residency includes a transfer between the two cities, travel between Madrid and Paris will be reimbursed up to a maximum of €200.
Any visa and insurance arrangements remain the responsibility of the selected researcher.
During their stay at the Casa de Velázquez, the researcher will also receive a meal allowance of €5 per day.
Candidate Profile
Applicants must:
• Hold a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent).
• Have a good command of at least two of the following languages: English, French, and Spanish.
• Conduct research related to at least one of the following themes:
– Global modernities between Spain and/or Paris and Latin America;
– Picasso’s correspondents between Spain, Paris, and Latin America;
– The reception of Picasso (across all artistic, historical, and critical forms) in France, Spain, and Latin America.
• Submit a project that aligns with the scientific priorities of MIAS and the research policy of the Casa de Velázquez.
